Step-by-step master class. How to make a bat from plasticine

Bats are one of the most mysterious creatures of nature. Few have seen these animals in person. After all, they are nocturnal, so during the day bats sleep, hiding in dark places - caves, grottoes, abandoned buildings and tree hollows. At night, they hunt various insects, and large species of bats love to feast on small birds, frogs and even fish. Today our lesson will teach you how to create a bat from plasticine. Carefully study each step of modeling and conduct a fascinating master class for your child. Bats are interesting creatures, so be sure to teach your child a few facts about them.

To create a craft you will need several materials and tools:

  • plasticine black, gray, brown and yellow;
  • wire for attaching wings and head;
  • stack knife for cutting mass.

How to make a bat from plasticine

Step 1. Having thoroughly kneaded one block of black plasticine, cut off a third of the mass and roll it into a ball. We have created a blank animal head.

Step 2. Next, we fashion an elongated torso from the same piece of plasticine. We fasten a piece of wire at the top of the workpiece and attach a round head.

Step 3. Create a thin cake from gray plasticine and glue it onto the front part of the bat’s body.

Step 4. Use a skewer to create tiny indentations for the eyes.

Below we attach an oval spout made of brown mass.

We form eye balls from yellow, black and white plasticine. We glue them into the holes.

Under the nose we draw the line of the mouth and complement it with a pair of white fangs.

Step 5. We also form large ears from brown and black drop-shaped cakes. We fix them on the top of the head and bend the ends a little.

Step 6. Add brown paw-cakes to the lower part of the body. Draw thin fingers along the edge with a knife.

Step 7. Cut out wings from black cakes and glue thin veins onto them.

The Halloween holiday means decorating your home with a variety of paraphernalia: pumpkins, ghosts, witch hats, dragons, spiders and bats. Today you can learn how to make the last decoration option yourself and it won’t take much time. This lesson presents a classic version of a craft in the form of a three-dimensional figure, but you can experiment and come up with your own original version.

  • Black and white double-sided paper
  • Stationery glue
  • Stapler
  • Scissors
  • Black marker
  • Pencil

Step-by-step photo lesson:

We will make the body of the bat from a small rectangular sheet cut out of black paper. The size can be any. In our case it has 16 x 6 cm.

We connect a sheet of paper into a tube. We fix the form with a stapler in places where the edges overlap each other.

Carefully bend the front and back walls at the top. The sides will turn into little bat ears.

We will do the same with the bottom side.

Draw bat wings on black double-sided paper.

Apply office glue to the middle of the wings.

We attach the bat body blank to the wings. Give a little time for the two parts to stick together.

From white paper we will make big eyes for our bat. Add a black marker to the pupils in each circle.

Glue the finished eyes in the form of two white circles to the front of the body.

So the paper bat for Halloween is ready. You can not only play with such a craft, but also decorate your home with such figures for the autumn holiday.

It may be relevant on the eve of Halloween or it will simply be a great excuse to work with soft mass. All work can be done in several stages, using only one color of plasticine, read the details below.

1. To create a bat, use a black or gray block. This is the color the fur coat and wings of this animal should be. Although it is never possible to examine the details of the nimble baby’s appearance, images of a representative of the fauna are not difficult to find on the Internet. Mice always fly out to hunt in the dark, people can only see their silhouettes.

2. Form a ball and an ellipse-shaped piece. These are the main parts from which the head and torso will be made in the future. Immediately reserve a third of the plasticine to create the wings.

3. Connect the head and torso, pressing firmly on the plasticine, but trying not to deform the workpiece.

4. Knead the soft black mass in your hands and, pressing it against the board, make a flat sheet. Distribute the plasticine evenly in a thin layer. Then cut out the characteristic webbed wings of the bat using a stack. Refer to the photo.

5. Attach the wings to one side of the body, taking it behind the back.

6. Create two glowing eyes on the muzzle. To do this, cut out slits in a stack and insert yellow plasticine into them. Attach horn ears to the top of the head.

7. Add a nose. And on the inside of the wings draw membranes in a stack.

8. Two more small details - paws. It is also better to make them from black plasticine and add three fingers.

9. Attach the paws to the craft.

The bat can now fly under the cover of night, but you shouldn’t be afraid of it, because our craft is plasticine.

Many people are afraid of mice, and even more so of bats. Together with you, we already know how to sculpt a little mouse, a rather cute creature, from plasticine; it’s time to learn how to sculpt another animal, which we also call a mouse, only a bat. And we will time our lesson, of course, with the celebration of Halloween, which is just around the corner. Bats are companions of evil spirits, witches and vampires, just like black cats. Bats are not similar at all appearance On ordinary mice, to begin with, they are black, not gray, in addition, they have webbed wings, as well as long ears and fangs, like vampires. Let's move on to the lesson.

Step-by-step photo lesson:

The main color of plasticine that will be used to sculpt the Halloween object – a bat – is black. Absolutely all parts of the animal’s body will be made from it. Only the teeth and eyes will need to be highlighted. For the teeth, prepare miniature white grains (very, very small size), and the eyes can be made from beads to make them sparkle and appear more sinister.

Make a small body, pointed towards the bottom. Prepare the 2 lower legs as well. Extend the legs with your fingers at the tips and cut into a stack.

Glue the plasticine legs to the lower sharp part of the body.

To sculpt spreading wings, form an oval black cake by flattening the plasticine with your fingers and pressing it onto the board.

Using a stack, cut out the outlines of the wings. The wings will be arched at the top and zigzag at the bottom.

Stick on the membranes.

Glue the wings to the back. Show the horns-ears on your head, pulling out the soft mass with your fingers.

Attach two white fang teeth to the muzzle. Use beads (preferably shiny ones) instead of eyes.

Turn the bat upside down, because this is the position in which it likes to hang under the roofs of houses, on beams and tree branches. Insert a stick into the paws.

In the form of a bat. It will be black and harsh. It is advisable to lower it upside down, this is how these night “swallows” live under roofs and in caves.

Have you ever been able to examine the appearance of a bat in detail? These animals fly above our heads as soon as it starts to get dark outside, we are even afraid of them, because we are afraid of everything connected with darkness and the unknown. Of course, it is almost impossible to see this nimble night robber at night.

We even sometimes wonder if it was the swallows that stayed in the sky until late. And if we are talking about celebrating the day of evil spirits, then the image of a bat takes on a completely different meaning. You can sew such a costume for yourself, make crafts with your children, or decorate the interior with details that imitate black wings with membranes, piercing eyes, and so on.

To sculpt a bat, prepare:

  • black plasticine;
  • stack;
  • a drop of white plasticine.

How to make a bat with your own hands?

For modeling the chosen craft, black plasticine is best suited, because we are talking about a bat - small, black and flying.

This block is probably left in your kit after children's crafts, so in October it's time to use it. To give the craft a little color, draw a skull on the chest - this will add zest, the craft will become creepy.

Divide the central block proportionally and knead separately the parts for sculpting the head, body, wings and legs.

Now proceed to deforming the prepared parts. Make the head, which was previously a simple ball, sharper at the bottom, and also show two ears in the form of a horn on the top of the head. Also extend the body (a slightly larger ball) and sharpen it at the bottom by pulling out the plasticine with your fingers. Fasten the head and torso first.

Now make the wings. And this is more complex modeling work. Make thin cakes, round and smooth at the top, and make sharp protrusions at the bottom.

You can do the work simply with your fingers or help yourself with a stack, cutting the plasticine in some places. Also draw the membranes.

Glue two absolutely identical wings on the sides. Press down the plasticine while it is still soft.

Make eyes and a mouth on the head. Roll small white balls, glue them end to end in the center and add pupils. Also cut out the mouth, you can lower the corners down. But while the mouse looks somehow strange, it’s not scary at all.

Stick on frowning eyebrows - your appearance will instantly transform, you will get the result you need. Make 2 legs from the remaining piece of plasticine.

Pull the mass into spatulas, cut 3 fingers at the ends and bend them in the shape of a chicken foot.

Glue two legs at the bottom of the body. Be sure to turn your figurine upside down.

Now make an image of a skull on the chest using drops of white and black plasticine.

Bat ready from plasticine. We did it interesting craft. It can be attached to a stick and lowered down, then the skull will be clearly visible, or, on the contrary, it can be placed on its feet.
